Is your ideal vacation camping with comfort?  Our cabins will give you all the joys of the great outdoors with a little extra comfort thrown in.   Miner Hickory Farms offers affordable one room cabins surrounded by nature on their 300-acre family farm in Garrett County, MD.   These new fully furnished cabins are the perfect get-a-away for any couple or family. Bathhouses, a covered pavilion, and shared kitchen are just steps away from your door.

Enjoy the abundance of activities in the area such as hiking, biking, boating, fishing, shopping, or just relaxing.  On site we offer horse trail rides, guided RTV rides, horseback riding lessons, and walking trails.

The cabins are 20 minutes from Deep Creek Lake and Wisp and minutes from Casselman State Park, The Savage River State Forest, and Meadow Mountain Trail.  There is a total of 8 state parks within 8-30 minutes of our farm.  These parks are all unique and offer a wealth of activities such as: fishing, kayaking, swimming, beaches, historical Information, canoeing, hiking, waterfall viewing, and much more!

 

Our covered pavilion is the perfect place to host a birthday party, family reunion, picnic, small wedding, and more. The pavilion is available to book on weekends from April-October. There are eight picnic tables, a fire pit, (stone fireplace coming soon) and propane grill on site. Pavilion rental includes use of the kitchenette, with full size refrigerator, microwave, dual coffee maker, sitting area, electric griddle, toaster, and outside sink. Restrooms, cabins, and walking trail on site.

  • There is a 2-pet limit per cabin and a $25 fee does apply per pet to stay.  Sorry, but cats are not permitted.

We understand that the bathroom facilities are an important aspect of the camping experience. Our bathhouses are designed to bring you all the comforts of home, with modern, comfortable features which include electricity, hot water, full size showers, sinks, ventilation, and regular maintenance.

Cabins: 

Booking Prices: $100.00 per night ( 2-night minimum stay/total $200) +50% of the rental amount due at time of booking.

Farm Special: $280.00 for 2 nights with choice of a horse trail ride or Ride Along farm tour for 2 people (additional riders $40 per guest) + 50% of the rental amount due at time of booking.

Pavilions:

2 Hour Rental: $100

4 Hour Rental: $125

All-Day Rental: $175

We strive to stock our site with everything that you need to have an enjoyable, carefree vacation.    Below is a list of everything that you’ll find when you check-in and items that we suggest you bring with you.

Important information about your stay

Rules & Regulations

We have horses nearby, please do not feed the horses.  Some are on special diets  and could suffer greatly if fed the wrong food.

Dogs are welcome at Miner Hickory Farm!

  • There is a $25 fee per pet (per stay)
  • There is a limit of 2 dogs per Cabin
  • Sorry, but our insurance will not allow Pit Bulls or other fighting breeds to be on the property.  We understand these breeds are generally good natured and friendly, but we are restricted by our insurance provider.
  • Dogs must be on a leash within sight of any Cabin or Bathhouse
  • Dogs may NOT be left unattended on the property.  This includes in the cabins or automobile.
  • Within sight of any Cabin, Bathhouse, or picnic area dog waste must be picked up and properly disposed of  (buried or thrown in trash – not the fire pits)

Sorry, but cats are not permitted.

Quiet time in the Cabin area is from 10:00 PM until 8:00 AM.

If exploring on our property,  please stay in the designated areas.   It is a natural environment and Miner Hickory Farm is not responsible for accidents or injuries on the property or cabin site.  Please stay off the horse trails.  We do offer a designated walking trail for campers.

Please respect our neighbors and do not trespass on private property.

Garrett County recycles. Please assure you using the labeled trash bins provided. trash bins provided and labeled. Please separate your recyclable material and drop them in appropriate bins.   Please do not burn trash in the firepits.  This will attract animals and leave an unpleasant smell for the next guests.

Bears are present in the woods surrounding Miner Hickory Farm but have never caused any problems.  Please keep all food securely contained inside your cabin, kitchenette, or vehicle. A clean campsite doesn’t attract bears!

Fires are permitted only in the provided fire pit. Fires must be always attended.  Please keep fire pits tidy and always ensure that fires are completely out before leaving the site.  If ash buildup needs cleaned out, please let us know.   Do not place garbage in the fire pits.

No fires are permitted outside of the fire pits or anywhere on the property.

There is absolutely no hunting permitted on Miner Hickory Farm property.  There are thousands of acres of public land in the surrounding area should you wish to hunt.

Motorized vehicles, such as ATV’s, motorcycles (dirt), UTV’s, etc. are not permitted to be operated anywhere on Miner Hickory property nor the adjoining state land.  Please refer to Garrett County trails for places to recreate with motorized vehicles.

No firearms or other weapons (bows, crossbows, catapults, tanks, flame-throwers, etc.) are permitted to be discharged on Miner Hickory Farm property.

NO smoking is permitted in cabins, bathhouses, pavilion, or kitchen areas.   All butts must be disposed of as garbage and not tossed in the forest.  Cigarette butts have been found to be one of the most toxic types of pollution.  Please respect others when smoking.

No blankets, bedding, pillows, or chairs may be removed from the cabins or porches. Do NOT use these items around the fire pit!  Cleaning fees will apply.  Please return all other items to their original location so that they can be inventoried for the next guest.

The pavilion and kitchen areas are a shared spaces great for socializing with other campers.   Please be respectful of others and return all furniture and games to their area after use.  Please try to tidy up after you have enjoyed time there.

There are electric fences throughout the property. These can be extremely dangerous, please use caution when approaching them.

Small Tents and rain tarps are permitted to be erected directly beside any cabin which is rented by the same occupants.  Additional guest fees apply.

Please keep cabins, bath house, pavilion, and common areas clean and tidy for the next guests.   Guests are responsible for leaving the cabins as they were found.

Firewood for the fire pit is provided.  If you run out, please let us know

Garrett County is a very safe community.   We are located on site and perform regular patrols of the site and can always be reached at  240-727-9087.
